October Workout Playlist
I spend most of my day surrounded by music, so it’s no surprise I should want it when I work out, too (I painstakingly crafted my mp3 playlist for my half marathon). I love my iPod Nano and I clip it on with my 12-yr old headphones whose neckband wraps around my neck and ears and keeps them on while I run (similar to these neckband headphones from Sennheiser or Philips)
Because I spend so much time listening to music, especially since I work from home, I constantly need new music and change my playlists up.
Have some songs to recommend? Leave them in the comments.
Here’s the playlist I’ve been rocking to recently – mainly high-energy and dance:
- Party Rock Anthem – LMFAO
- We Found Love – Rihanna
- Moves like Jagger – Maroon 5
- You Make Me Feel (feat Sabi) – Cobra Starship
- In the Dark – Dev
- Right There (Desi Hits! Culture Shock Remix) – Nicole Scherzinger
- Raise your Weapon (Madeon Remix) – Deadmau5
- Rain over me (feat Marc Anthony) – Pitbull
- Papi – Jennifer Lopez
- Got 2 Luv U (feat Alexis Jordan) – Sean Paul

Runner’s withdrawal, concurrent strength & endurance training
Since I started back up into a gym habit, I’ve been working out a lot. But I haven’t been running.
When I lived in the US, about 6 months before I moved to Italy, I ran a half-marathon. I grew up playing soccer and field hockey, so running around wasn’t something new, but running continuously, somewhere, was. I never thought I would run a half-marathon, and after the death of my grandmother in 2001, who was confined to a wheelchair after breaking her hip, I felt the need to reinforce and express my own health. Through running. I started running often and then I set a goal.
Peanut, almond, sunflower seed: nut butters – I love them all!
You can take the American out of America, but you can’t take the American out of her – at least where peanut butter is concerned.
Many people may think nut butter is something to avoid when dieting, but I find it very satisfying and something that I enjoy, so it makes a regular appearance in what I’m eating. It fills me up and I spread it thin on a Wasa cracker with a little jam. It’s also one of things that’s more difficult to find in Italy, so I always stock up when I visit the US. These are the jars I currently have in the house:
Review: Nike Training Club App for iPhone
Update: Do you need workout music to set to your training? Check out my workout playlist for my music recommendations!
I’ve used Nike as part of my workouts for some time. Nike was one of the first outlets that came to my hometown which meant I used Nike shoes for a long, long time and it’s still one of the first brands I look at. I also run quite a bit with their Nike+ sensor in my shoes and tracking my runs.
When I heard about the Nike Training Club App for the iPhone, I was interested but wasn’t expecting much. Since I don’t have an iPhone, I downloaded it to my iPad. 500MBs seemed like a big app, and now I know why.
